For man, autumn is a time of harvest, of gathering together.  For nature, it is a time of sowing, of scattering abroad.  ~Edwin Way Teale

Yes, what a beautiful time of the year, AUTUMN.  It was always a great time of the year, growing up in southeast Indiana: early frost, pumpkins, fairs, brown leaves, hay rides, chilly night air, cool sunny days, leaves to rake, and farming tools to clean/store for winter.  What fun!!! And now in north central North Carolina, autumn approaches. Our autumn weather/chores/activities come at a slower  pace.  We are still mowing yards, harvesting vegetables, cutting/baling hay and today still wearing sleeveless shirts, shorts and sandals.

Wherever you are, hope you will have a great beginning to this 2012 Autumn Equinox.  Sunday,
September 23, 2012 will be the first full day of autumn.  Hope you enjoy, all.

Until next time, Happy Gardening.
