There are always flowers for those who want to see them.  ~Henri Matisse

Gardening is civil and social, but it wants the vigor and freedom of the forest and the outlaw.  ~Henry David Thoreau

Yard art.  Do you like yard art?  I do.  Rusty, ceramic, concrete, colorful, large, tall, short, small ... it is interesting to me.  I have friends whose yard is everchanging.  They make new flowerbeds, tear up soil for more yard area, add water displays ... it is always a treat to visit and see what new they have.

And with daylilies, when separating, ya might want to move them from one area to another.  Add a water feature in the middle of them.  Or you may want to incorporate the power pole in the yard and make a display using daylilies.  Daylilies do add such beauty.

Well, hope everyone has a good day and until next time, Happy Gardening.

Each flower is a soul opening out to nature.   -  Gerald De Nerval

Hope you will reflect and remember those who have died for our freedom.  Bless them all.  Happy Memorial Day.

Have a good day.  Spent with family, friends, on the lake, at a cookout ... enjoy all.  And until next time, Happy Gardening.

Adopt the pace of nature:  her secret is patience.  ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Patience, oh my, patience.  Think I can say that I don't have much.  I do try and it does come upon me more often in my older years.  (Not so much when I am driving, though!!)

When it comes to plants, shrubs, bulbs, seeds ... patience is extremely important.  My patience has been tested not too long ago.  Been watching for the tuberose to peer thru the ground.  And not so much, ya know.  I have been away for several days and upon returning,  thought about the bulbs.   Went out on the back porch, peered over the porch railing and yes ... there it was, greenery peering thru the soil.  Tuberose.   Yee Haw!!!

Hope your vegetable plants/seeds and newly planted outdoor items are showing growth.  Be mindful of weekly waterings. :)

Guess all for this time.  Hope you had a good day and until next time, Happy Gardening.

Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful: they are sunshine, food and medicine to the soul.  ~ Author Unknown

Growing a plant, either indoors, outdoors ... it does a body good.  Talking to your plants, singing to your plants, playing music for your plants or giving a little extra TLC, your plants will reward you.  Yes, reward you with height, color, fragrance, oxygen and more.  What a deal for a nice Mother Nature gift.

Hope you have a good day and until next time, Happy Gardening.

Remember those men and women who gave their life serving our country.  Memorial Day 2013.

Flowers don't worry about how they're going to bloom.  They just open up and turn toward the light and that makes them beautiful~Jim Carrey

And what's bloomin' in your yard?  No daylilies blooming, however the peonies are opening.  White, light pink, dark pink ... so full.  Love 'em.  And how do you say the word "peony"?  Have heard "pee OH knee"  "pee uh knee".  My Mother cringed every time she heard it said the first way.  Our Indiana way was the second.

High school graduation for family member coming up this weekend.  Congrats!!! :)

All for this time.  Hope you have a good night and until next time, Happy Gardening.

Just because you've only got houseplants doesn't mean you don't have the gardening spirit - I look upon myself as an indoor gardener.  ~Sara Moss-Wolfe

Indoor gardener?  Not a bad idea.  Several years ago, I received a  ZZ  (Zamioculcas zamiifolia)  houseplant.  A houseplant that is almost indestructable.  Now what I like, it withstands limited light.  Overhead lighting, diffused window light .... this plant stays green, grows and takes little water.  Great  plant.

Now for outdoors, the DAYLILY is the perennial of choice. (thought I would say differently?) :)

Want to send heart felt wishes to those in Oklahoma.  What devastation.

Weather here brought us over 3" of rain since Sunday afternoon.  Water standing in daylily rows.  Sounds like a day for Muck Boots.

Hope everyone has a good day and until next time, Happy Gardening.

If you've never been thrilled to the very edges of your soul by a flower in spring bloom, maybe your soul has never been in bloom. ~Terri Guillemets

 Good Morning ...

Green, green, everywhere green.  Was mowing the grass last night and was just enthralled with all the growth.  Newly planted shrubs/trees, 100 year old oak trees, pasture freshly spread with fertilizer ... all beautiful hues of green.

Hope you find lots of green and lots of LOVE in your life today.  Have a good day and until next time, Happy Gardening.

In every gardener there is a child who believes in The Seed Fairy.  ~Robert Brault

Yes, there are seed fairies and there are blue skies.  Not always seen, yet always there.  :)

Good Morning all.  Sorry that I have been offline for sooooo long.

It is a beautiful spring day here in Macon, NC.  As with most of us, weather has been cool/wet.  The goats have not liked it.  I personally liked it. And the DAYLILIES are thriving.  As have weeds.  With all the rains, I can not get out in the fields to work, however drier days are ahead.  Right?

So what are you planning for your yards/gardens this year?  Planting daylilies is always a good perennial.  They thrive in most soil types, are drought tolerant ... just a very forgiving plant.  Try some ... in a place with lots of sun where most plants struggle, daylilies are a perfect perennial.  Daylilies also like to be close to your house, so you can see their beauty.

Guess all for this time.  Hope you have a good day and until next time, Happy Gardening.
