First full day ...

...of summer.

Summer has set in with its usual severity. ~Samuel Taylor Coleridge

Yes, severity it has, ie, heat, sun, thunderstorms, winds, downpours, drought, record breaking temps .. on and on and on. We here at Oakville Farm have not experienced all types of weather ... drought being our nemesis at this time!!! And this is just the first full day of summer, the summer of 2011, WOW. Daylilies would be a great addition to your summer 2011 find!!

Want to showcase the daylily, Hooper Connell. It is looking very good this season. It stands out on a scape, high above the foliage. A green over yellow color with a bright green throat. It is a rebloomer and blooms here in mid June. A great, great find for $4.00 per double fan.

Glad you could make it out this morning, Libba ... Your excitement and enthusiasm over the daylilies was just in line with us daylily lovers!

Hope you have a good day. Until next time, Happy Gardening.
